Martin Belič, a flutist and Mojca Zlobko Vajgl,a harpist are well known to our audience. They have selected for their joint performance at this year’s Music September Festival the compositions varied in time of creation and style to fascinate us with lyrical ambiance so typical for the combination of flute and harp. After finishing her studies, Mojca Zlobko soon developed into a concert soloist with a vast and varied solo and chamber music repertoire. Her artistic career has taken her all over Europe. Over the past several years, she has performed as a soloist with such orchestras as the Berlin Symphonics, Stockholm Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of the Hamburg Philharmony, Ars Amata Zurich Ensemble … She has also performed several times as a soloist with the Chamber orchestra of the Vienna Symphonics. She started to collaborate with this orchestra when she lived and worked for some time in the Austrian capital. She recorded there for Camerata Tokyo record label one of her CDs with the Vienna Philharmonic first flutist Dr. Dieter Flury. Her audience at home often saw her performing as a soloist with the Slovenian Philharmonics and the RTV Slovenia Symphonic Orchestra. Her cooperation with Slovene composers gave birth to some very original works for the harp, dedicated to Mojca Zlobko Vajgl and created by Primož Ramovš, Ivo Petrič, Uroš Krek, Jani Golob, Aldo Kumar, Aleš Strajnar and Milko Lazar. After finishing the secondary school in Maribor, Martin Belič continued to study flute with Prof. Irena Grafenauer at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He attended Masterclasses given by Michael Martin Kofler, Draga Ažman, Matej Zupan, Herta Mergl and Eckart Haupt. Throughout the years of performing, he has received a number of awards at national and international competitions, with the most important being the first prize at the international “Citta di Pietra Ligure” contest in Italy in 1998 and the first prize and a golden plaque at the competition of young Slovene musicians in 2004. He collaborates with chamber ensembles and he has performed as a soloist with the Maribor Philharmonic Orchestra and the Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg. He has recently become a regular member of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra.
